Why use blocks as a prop in yoga practice?

 

When used correctly, blocks are great tools for Yoga practice as they provide additional support and stability in poses, help to improve alignment, and make poses easier and more accessible for all practitioners.

Using blocks helps to make poses safer by allowing you to go deeper into the pose without over-extending or straining your body. They can also help to reduce the risk of injury or strain by providing a base of support.

It is also possible to use blocks to improve balance and coordination by adding extra stability. Finally, blocks can be used to modify postures to make them more challenging or easier depending on the practitioner’s level.

 

About this Workshop

 

This workshop on yoga blocks will be informative and fun! Master Selva will introduce you to the basics of yoga block practice as well as how to incorporate them into your daily practice. In addition to learning how to effectively use the blocks properly for posture support, you will also learn how to modify poses to suit your individual needs.

Additionally, he will discuss the various benefits of using yoga blocks, including improving core strength, increasing flexibility, and improving balance. If you are a beginner or an experienced yoga practitioner, this workshop is perfect for you, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, come along and discover the various new practice approaches in yoga through the use of yoga blocks as a prop!

Workshop 1: 18th March 2023 – Saturday 2.30 – 5.00 pm GMT + 8 (Hong Kong Time).

In the first workshop, Master Selva will cover how to use the blocks as an effective prop for back bending , hip opening, and core strengthening poses.

Workshop 2: 19th March 2023 – Sunday 2.30 – 5.00 pm GMT + 8 (Hong Kong Time).

In the Second workshop, Master Selva will cover how to use the blocks as an effective prop for Front Bending, inversion and arm balancing poses.

At least 10 poses will be covered in each workshop with various modification and variations.
